Welcome to DrugNet, the White Mountain's only Radio source for information and
help on drugs for the community, businesses, family, friends, addicts and
alcoholics who want to know more.

The first step to any problem is admitting that there is a problem. Though we
would like to stick our heads in the sand like an ostrich, we can no longer do
that. Everywhere we turn - radio, television, newspapers - it's about the
growing drug problem. So, we admit that we have a problem. We will provide the
forum for education on drugs and drug issues. We will answer your questions.

I am Barbara Bruce. Many of you know me from "Tobacco Talk" and "Smoke Break."
I smoked for 23 years and tobacco is a drug, a gateway drug for many. I know
about co-dependency. I grew up in a dysfunctional family and I have a Black
Belt in Co-Dependency - but went to therapy and am in recovery. It is my desire
that by sharing my experiences, I may be able to help someone else who is going
through the pain of living with and loving a drug addict or alcoholic. The good
news is, you really can be "co-dependent no more."

Dr. C.J. Shaw is 23 + years in recovery from Alcoholism. He was the Director of
the Chemical Dependency Unit at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix. He currently
works with Community Counseling Center in Show Low.

Together, we want to make a difference. Each week we will introduce our
subject, share factual information with you and then open up the phone lines or
e-mail to answer your questions. We respect your anonymity, knowing that many
voices are easily recognized in a small, rural setting. You may speak on line,
give your question to our engineer, Logan Bentley, or write to us at:
questions@drugnetonline.com

With education, together, we can make a difference.
